TF2 Blog LMAO's

Anyone play TF2 out there?

Here's the situation. Steam users found a way to 'idle' in game without actually being ingame, hence get crap loads of items. None that were very good or gave you any kind of advantage, but still. Valve was granting these items to everyone. Idlers just wanted them faster. Some like myself who had earned these items already were in it for 'the hats'

hats: Rare items given out by Valve to make your character "Cool" no other purpose besides they were, 1. RARE 2. COOL

so of course everyone wanted one. And so the story of The Idler. I only participated in this idling for 3 days when i found out Valve didn't think this was such a good idea, i probably should have known better... but i stopped ASAP. Don't bite the hand that feeds.

So I've been travelling along reading entertaining posts with angry players not getting hats, others gloating about theirs, screenshots, yelling, all the way down into the muddy personal insults.

So after months of this Valve decided to take action, YESTERDAY. The Punishment: all items removed from those earned from idoling ( i never kept any of mine anyway....) and gave those that never idoled a 'Cheaters Lament' which is a little halo that can be equiped (for visual entertainment) on every character who earned it.

apparently thats not a harsh enough warning not to idle. 4.5% of TF2 user are still idling, in danger of losing ALL their items... another funny topic.

if you dont know TF2, it doesn't really matter because their forums has to be one of the most entertaining bits of web I've ever had the oppourtunity to read. Note: it is 'Will Ferrel' funny, but if you have time check out the image in this link:::

Cheers to 12 year old angry players, we love to laugh at you, check this out --> [link]

WOW OTHELLO!

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 28, 2009, 8:00 AM

Well, I went to see Bard on the Beach last night [link] My Hubby and I watched Othello, hence the title. I've been to quite a few of these plays and even saw Othello a few years back, but none has been so good as this!

Michael Blake as Othello, and his wife Desdemona played by Naomi Wright, were two of the most amazing actors I've ever seen in live theater [link] . I was telling friends of mine today how tired they must have been from that performance. Talk about taking your role to the next level! After the intermission, I was already impressed, but then if i thought i had seen great acting they kicked the entire play up into overdrive. The acusations of Othello turned Desdemona to desperate pleas, the anger that Othello expressed against her were _AMAZING!_. The emotions those two expressed in their roles was baffling! I can't sat it enough, I have never seen expression like that, and rarely even see it on tv!

Each cast member brought something to their role, Bianca(didn't catch her name) and Emilia (Jennifer Lines) also need special mention as I was also very captivated by their performance.

There was just something profoundly different from this play to others that I've seen. I've seen a lot of good actors, but none that have hit home so greatly. For any of those that have been in a position where they've had to deperately plea for something they believe in (in this instance Desdemona's honesty and life) her character will move you. As well any that have been enraged by betrayal or jaded by lies, this play WILL move you.

In a nutshell i was blown away, and I'd like to go see it a again. If time permits I will.

For those that live in the lower mainland, and even just across the border, I HIGHLY recommend seeing this play, with this cast (if possible)

*** IN OTHER NEWZ ***

I'm thinking about moving, I've opened up an account called 'thecatsmewz' and am planning on posting my next completed piece there. When this account runs out, I think I'll be moving my work there. 'Darkcat2004' just doesn't fit anymore.. and I think its time for a new look.

My new piece is called Forbidden Love. Two lovers torn by family feud have to say goodbye for the last time. I know dramatic right. I thought it was fitting.

anyway I'm at work, and really should be working.

Later!

A HOT July

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 22, 2009, 10:40 AM

Thanks for all the favs and comments everyone, I really appreciate all the support, I try to get around and thank everyone but *sigh* it just doesn't happen. So for all those I missed, THANK-YOU!

Wow is it hot out there! was 33 yesterday!!

Went to my husbands grandma's funeral, she was 90. Sweetest lady ever. Took the day off, glad i did actually cause we were running around all day. Between the dogs, getting ready, going, spending time there, coming home and family pictures (as fun as they were) I think we were all pretty exhausted.

So I've been playing with more of :iconjnati: photos but I haven't asked permission to post them so they will be for myself, photomanip practice. Its a pretty one ^_^ hehe

Other than that working on the 8,000 thanks, as long as it turns out it'll be a pretty one this time. Haven't quite decided how the colors are going to go but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Also working on some cartoon dragons, and more of the Aligators for Croc Dock VBS at Calvary.

Been taking tons of photos of the dogs together, they're so cute. I think I might have to post a new ID photo ^_^ since its been a while.

Lots of camping coming up. Went to Indian arm last weekend which was crazy, paddled from Deep Cove all the way to Granite Falls and back, arms burned wrists ached, there was a TON of jellyfish in the water 0.o which was kindof scary.. seeing as we were only in a canoe. But we went to see an old shutdown Hydro water plant which was like a movie set inside! and the falls was awesome! biggest falls I've ever seen, you can't see the top from the bottom... and the little island we stayed on the first nice was so cute and cozy. It was hard for me but we had a good time. Going to Harrison this weekend, and the weekend after this we'll be up at Williams Lake.

Still waiting on my call for an interview from the School Board... but I'm working again, which is always nice! my old company hired me back in a different department.

So far thats pretty much it!

Laters!

How's Life?

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 23, 2009, 3:25 PM

Well things are going great so far.

Practicum is finished, I got a phone call for more references.. nothing else besides that yet...

Been to and back from Hawai'i, Oahu to be more exact, it was an awesome 10 days! we went up Diamond Head (I complained the whole way), did some waterfall hike which was crazy humid but beautiful!

They were having their 50th anni as a state so they closed down the whole strip and had parades, food shopping, it was like the Richmond Night Market.. for those that live in the lower mainland. We had cupons for everything so i got to have Hagen Daas three times >< I was a crazy glutton.. got pictures up on Facebook for those that know me more personally.

The Dog is wonderful! we take her for hour long walks everyday, she eats everything... my poor furniture, I try to keep her outside more. She seems to be happier out there as well. Not to mention I dont have various wastes on my floor waiting for me when i get home.

I'm currently at Calvary getting ready for VBS this summer! Crocodile Dock, its going to be great! I've drawn up some crocs and ali's for us to cut out of foam and put up. They're going to be huge, we're decking out the entrance as a full out dock. I'll post pictures of that when we have it finished for August.

In the mean time, I spent today in my Practicum class as a visitor, and I'm working on painting a Dragon that I've sketched out. I dont really know how I want to paint it yet... spent an hour yesterday playing, but there wasn't any ideas coming to me that i loved. But I'm just happy that I'm drawing things.

I finished watching Romeo X Juliet drew a couple pics >< they're fun, I'll have to make a little sketch page of all the doodles I've done that I haven't had time to paint fully...

anyway, off to play TF2... or sleep...

Journal Entry: Sat May 30, 2009, 11:20 PM

Just finished going through over 300 fav's.. hehe i guess i watch too many people.. I'm getting around to all my thank-yous and back into doodling, I've got some stuff I did for my practicum teacher, *love her* ^_^ they're just photos now so I'll redo them/color and post... probably more for an over the summer project, lots to come!

I've finished my 4 week Practicum, it was amazing! I'm exhausted, but I'll hopefully be an SEA come September ^_^
